Carson Center for Global Engagement to host "Beyond Borders" on Feb. 20-25

The Carson Center for Global Engagement is sponsoring Beyond Borders, a week at Tabor College that celebrates and explores what God is doing worldwide through its students, alumni, and more.

The events, set for Feb. 20-25, are free and open to the public. 

“From the inner city to the far reaches of the globe, God is at work in many ways,” said Craig Jost, director of the Carson Center for Global Engagement. Beyond Borders will explore ways we engage in God’s great work through business, full-time ministry, or volunteer work. Our prayers are these events will inspire, encourage and equip our community to better engage with God in His mission.”

A Quilting Silent Auction will launch on Feb. 13 at 4 p.m. (CST) and run for two weeks. Items will be displayed in the Ebel Gallery in the Shari Flaming Center of the Arts and can be found online at www.tabor.edu/carsonsilentauction.

Jim Elam (g’81), World Impact in Dallas, Texas, will speak at Chapel on Feb. 20. The 10 a.m. service will be held in the Richert Auditorium in the Shari Flaming Center for the Arts. Later that day, Joanna Chapa (g’09) Mission Mobilizer with Multiply and a former missionary in Peru, will give the Mission Moment in the Blue & Gold Room in the Student Center at 7 p.m.

A Mission Fair will begin at 10 a.m. on Feb. 21 in the Student Center. The “Business As Mission” Discussion Panel is set for 7 p.m. that evening in the Franz Family Heritage Lobby.

Stephen Humber, Mission Mobilizer with Multiply, will speak at Chapel on Feb. 22. That evening, there will be mission trip testimonies during Share, Prayer & Dare in the Historic Church at 9 p.m.

Nasser al’Qahtani will give the Mission Moment with the Mission Club at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23 in the Student Conference Room.

An informational meeting for international trips will begin at 10 a.m. on Feb. 24 in Classroom 31 in the H.W. Lohrenz Administration Building. The week will culminate with a service project from 9-11 a.m. at Main Street Ministries on Saturday, Feb. 25.
