The Tower Wind Quintet is happy to announce they will be performing a free recital, open to the public, on Oct. 25th at 7:30 p.m. in Sebits Auditorium.
The hour-long performance will include standard works in the wind quintet repertoire by Bozza, Barthe and Klughardt. Friends University Bands director, Shawn Knopp, is featured on a fun piece with narrator, "The Unhappy Aardvark" you won't want to miss. Finally, the quintet will round out the program with a charming collection of stylized Dutch folksongs by DeGroot and a piece by Argentine tango composer, Piazzola.
The quintet consists of Friends University faculty:
Amy Hoffman (flute), Cindy Thompson (oboe), Chris Johnson (clarinet), Kimme Whittemore (bassoon) and Denise Kintzel (horn).
