HFD is working a fire at the recycling center on north Birch by the old water tower. Crews are putting the fire out now and no one was hurt in the incident. The recycling center will be closed until further notice.
This incident is an important reminder to not put trash, hazardous household chemicals, flammable chemicals/ liquids or batteries in recycling bins. Be smart, dispose of your items appropriately.
