Six Tabor College students will get to take their CCM experience abroad.

Led by Professor David (g’85) and Lillian (Funk, g’85) Martens, the students will travel to Thailand later this month to lead worship at a conference of Crossworld missionaries.

After the event, the group will work alongside Ozz and Sara Kumrod, Mennonite Brethren missionaries serving through Multiply in Chonburi, Thailand.

“It’ll be a great opportunity to sit down and learn from these missionaries in a cross-cultural environment,” David said.

Participating students include Zach Beachy (SO, Peoria, Ariz.); Lauren Christensen (JR, Meade, Kan.); Paul Glanzer (SO, Hillsboro, Kan.); Olivia Jury (SR, Hillsboro, Kan.); Jefferson Tuten (SO, Scottsdale, Ariz.), and Jonathan Unruh (JR, Meade, Kan.).

Crossworld, a missions organization with offices in Kansas City, Mo., and Mississauga, Ontario, is a formative community of disciple-makers from all professions bringing God’s love to life in the world’s least-reached marketplaces.

Martens’ daughter Kristen (g’17) is the donor relations manager for Crossworld. She initially contacted her father to see if Tabor would be interested.

After presenting the trip to the students in For His Glory, Tabor’s contemporary Christian music team, the same six attending were the first to step forward and sign up.

One student expressed excitement, realizing they would receive the opportunity to travel internationally before graduating in May 2023.

“These students are going to serve in worship teams for most of their lives,” David said. “This opportunity to serve the church internationally with their gifts and talents, it’s a unique experience for our students.”

Gifts of prayer and finances are appreciated and welcomed by the attending students. Questions on support can be sent to davidmartens@tabor.edu.
