The Cowley County Sheriff’s Office released its activity report for the period from 6:00 a.m. on May 27 to 6:00 a.m. on May 28.
According to the report, deputies responded to several incidents throughout the day, including a complaint of a reckless driver in the 3000 block of US 160 at 8:35 a.m., and an ongoing custody issue discussed at the Sheriff’s Office at 10:41 a.m. At 12:24 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of Elm in Burden for reports of a suspicious person at someone’s door.
Other calls included assisting with a possible theft case at the Sheriff’s Office at 1:49 p.m., clearing debris from the roadway in the 12000 block of 21 Road at 2:40 p.m., and responding to disturbances in both the 32000 block of 31 Road and the 21000 block of Curtis Avenue later that evening. Deputies also conducted follow-ups regarding previous cases and harassment complaints throughout the day.
The office reported serving fifteen civil process papers during this period, investigating no accidents, issuing no traffic citations, but giving two traffic warnings. Six inmates were received into custody, bringing the current jail population to fifty-five.
The report also included information about Cowley County Crime Stoppers, which offers rewards up to $2,500 for tips.
